July Luncheon Meeting

Back by popular demand to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day is the MOWW Dallas chapter Tuesday Jul 1 luncheon program (11:15-1pm) at Park City Club. Our previous year’s program, consisting of several first-generation Americans (from all continents except Antarctica) expressing their appreciation and love of their freedom expressed in their American lives, was attended, and met with rave reviews for timeliness, emotion and uplifting of spirit. This upcoming program is one to invite guests and especially sons, daughters, and grandchildren, who are out of school. 

All chapter Companions are urged to attend and invite guests to our special Jul 1 luncheon program to celebrate our July 4, 1776 Declaration of Independence and our freedoms.

Three questions will be answered when you attend:

1. Who is the Patriot, who was born in Mexico, but became an American and served in Kuwait attached to the Marines as a Navy Corpsman?
2. Who is the guest, who was born in Iran and marched in the streets of Tehran yelling “Death to America,” but had a change of heart and soul later in America?
3. Who is the former Republic of Vietnam fighter pilot, who fought the communists until one day before the last Americans left Saigon on April 30, 1775?

 Mrs. Cristie Remmel is a former U.S. Navy Veteran who served as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman (Medic) and deployed to Bahrain with Marine Wing Support Squadron 373 during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Her medals and awards include the Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Globe, Anchor -two stars, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. She is A mentor, educator, and faculty member with Genius U, a professional Art Therapy Trainer, and a Veteran Speaker. She helped develop homeschool curricula and ghostwriting protocols for the Create a Book Program in California and is the author of the book “Wealth Within Reach – The Everyday Strategist,” a number one bestseller on Amazon in 2013. She raised and trained guide dogs for the blind through Guide Dogs for Florida and founded the Dallas–Fort Worth Veterans Chamber. She continues to give back through community volunteerism. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts.

 Dr. Hormoz Shariat comes from a Muslim background and became a follower of Jesus in 1980 after a comparative study of the Bible and Quran. A former Iranian, he believes that Iran will be the first Islamic nation to turn to Christ and uses his work to educate non-Christians of Iran. He authored the book “Iran’s Great Awakening,” which is the number one source of information about what is happening in Iran today and how the Bible prophecies align with the current events. Utilizes satellite broadcast to transmit the gospel throughout Iran and the Middle East, seeing over one hundred thousand Muslims convert to Christ. Followers and non-followers call him “The Billy Graham of Iran” and the most influential Iranian American, according to the best-selling author Joel Rosenberg. Featured on various radio and television stations, CBNs, 700 Club, Daystar, and TBN. He has a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Theology from Jessup University.

 Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Wiley served in the Department of Defense for forty years, first as an active-duty soldier, then as a contractor, and later as a civil servant. Serving at every level from platoon leader to the Pentagon first as a Transportation Officer, converting to Army Aviation in 1983. Key assignments include Executive Officer, 7-159th Aviation Intermediate maintenance Battalion; Chief Aviation and Electronic Management Officer, 19th Corps Material Management Center, 3rd COSCOM (FWD)/21st Theater Support Command/ United States Army Europe (FWD); Aviation Logistics Support Officer, Department of the Army G-4; Inspectors General, Department of the Army and Department of the Navy Inspector General Agencies; Apache Helicopter (AH-64) Program Analyst, Department of the Army – G8; Strategic Plans Specialist and Encroachment Officer, U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Huachuca, AZ; Transformation & Stationing Program Analyst, Yongsan Garrison, South Korea.
